Perustavanlaatuista Perusta ja Lattareista (osa2)

Tänään kävin jutustelemassa Suomen suurlähetystössä a la Lima. Ja toki myös työskentelyä paikallisen yhteistyökumppanini toimistolla.

Oletko muuten huomannut että kaikilla Lattarisuurlähetystöillä, Argentiinaa lukuunottamatta on nyt Facebook-tilin lisäksi myös Twitter? Uusimpana Twitterin käyttäjänä Suomen suurlähetystö Perussa. Heidän "Twitter-näppäimensä" löytyy jo kotisivuilta. Ja kohta myös suurlähetystöjen edustustot verkossa sivuilta. Tällä sivulla on siis hyvä yleiskatsaus kunkin edustuston SOME-medioista. Blogiakin löytyy joiltakin edustustoilta. Kannattaa tsekata!

Twitter on mielestäni hyvä väline vaikkapa erilaisten uutisten pikaseuraamiseen meillä ja muualla. Pysyy mainiosti ja lisäksi melko vähällä vaivalla ajan tasalla. Niin, ja tällä hetkellä organisoimme meikälle vierailuja muutamiin ylipistoihin, eri alojen järjestöihin ja toivottavasti myös pariin yritykseen. Saan tähän apua niin suurlähetystöltä kuin paikalliselta yhteistyöorganisaatioltani.

Suurlähetystössä kuultua lyhyesti:

Täällä Perussa on talouskasvun myötä panostettu viime vuosina erityisesti vaikkapa koulutukseen. Parannustyöt aloitettiin kouluista, ja hankittiin kouluihin mm. tietokoneet. Toki muunkinlaista parantelua...Nyttemmin on siirrytty yliopistotasolle ja maisteriopintoihin. Yliopistoja on kolmenlaisia; julkisia ja voittoa tavoittelevia. Ja voittoa tavoittelevien joukossa vastauullisia ja vähemmän vastuullisia. Kaikilta sektoreilta löytyy siis hyviä ja huonoja oppilaitoksia. Framilla on lisäksi uusi yliopistolaki, ja myös erityisesti ammatilliseen sektoriin on panostettu. Joillakin suomalaisista ammattikorkeakouluista on ehkä jo yhteyksiä SENATIin. Ainakin he ovat jo joitakin vuosia toivoneet yhteistyötä suomalaisten kanssa. Toivottavasti jotain on jo syntynyt, tai jos ei niin syntyy lähivuosina.

On siis oiva hetki luoda entistä enemmän yhteyksiä myös Perun suuntaan. Ja varsinkin kun opiskelijoita Peru kiinnostaa suuresti.

Kyselin myös mielipiteitä perulaisten englannin kielen taidosta. Tuli aika epäilevää kommenttia paikoitellen. Kuulemma ne, jotka englantia haluavat oppia, opiskelevat sitä ns. yksityisellä sektorilla. Vaikkapa ulkomaisten kulttuuri-instituuttien kursseilla tms. Etsin netistä joitakin tilastoja englannin kielen osaamisesta maailmassa, ja tällaista löytyi. Näissä tilastoissa Lattareista paras oli Argentiina, ja Brasiliassa englannin kielen taitotason todettiin nousseen viime vuosina. Tässä Eurooppapressin tilastossa englannin kielen hallinnasta eri maissa, 60 kärkimaata (ko. tilasto webbisivun alalaidassa). Suomi on tilastossa sijalla 7. Ja tässä vielä artikkeli asiasta Lattarimaihin liittyen (espanjaksi).

"Freelancing": Musicbars and Foodbars...

Nice weekend, indeed!

On Saturday evening I visited the famous Musicbar in Lima in Barranco, La Noche ..and there I succeeded...

...in listening to Uchpa, the Peruvian Metal-Blues-Folkband. Wow-my-dream-came-true!

On Sunday I visited the almost 150 hundred years old Resto-bar Antigua Taberna Queirolo .
There you could taste also "Pisco" made by the Resto-bar itself (as shot). As shot as the normal way in Finland to drink vodka and similar drinks is.

By the way...You must come to Finland to taste our black vodka called "Salmiakkikossu" or "Salmari". It was about 20 years ago, when some Finnish drinking establishments started serving a drink made out of ground ammonium chloride based candy (Salmiakki in Finnish). It became a trendy drink, and it is loved by many Finns!

Food and drinks, part4: Interesting, and more tips

Today I was doing shopping, as every now and then. They had a marketing campaign in my grocery store. They marketed a drink called "Miski". It was creamy pisco, kind of "Irish cream". Very interesting, not bad at all. I think I will buy it before returning to Finland...

Then a tip-tip to Brazilian fans and cocktail lovers. Where you can get good Brazilian cocktails. At one edge of the Kennedy Park in Miraflores there is a Brazilian bar called Media naranja . Try "Coco loco". You will get crazy mad as the cocktails suggests to you. You'll never forget the taste of it!

I found two more good restaurants. One is where I from now on and every now and then eat my lunch. It is called Café Café Restobar. Food is very good, and menu from all over the world.
Up to that, the set-up of the food - as nice as in Japan.

Another restaurant tip, where the atmosphere was really nice because of the played music. the music was  local, and it was not played too loud. Check Las Tejas in Miraflores. Food was also good. I tried local garlic called "aji". Fish with garlic. And yes indeed there was garlic, much more than put in the food anywhere in Europe...

Hoy tengo ganas de escribir algo en español...

Volvé el viernes del trabajo a casa con el pequeño autobús de Lima como siempre. Tan agradable aunque mucha gente. Estuve en "high feelings" en escuchar música latina-americana en el autobús...



En Helsinki, nunca así. Pero en Helsinki me gusta mucho tomar un tranvía, En Helsinki corren a veces aun Vintage trams . Las tranvías tuvieron en tiempos antiguos "Snow plough" and "Snow trailer". En los años 40 y antes, o algo así. Interesante pero ningun miraclo en un país nordico, Ve pf. el link "Vintage Trams y allí abajo en la pagina a los imagenes diversos. Apropós...las  bicicletas me también gusta, son simpáticas.Verdad?

Cuando tuve yo 13 o 23 años, tenía yo un sueño de tener muchas conexiones con países hispanohablantes. Y ya las tengo, en todo caso unas y varias. Hasta ahora he visitado España 10 veces, y mucho más. Además varios paises latinoamericanos más o menos 15 veces en total. Estoy tan feliz. Mí sueño no más en un sueño, pero la realidad pura.

Así muchas gracias  y "Kippis" para todos vosotros con quines tengo contactos, y con quienes voy a tener contactos. También me gusta mucho los paises portuguéshablantes."Kippis" en finés significa "Salud". Nos vemos!

Food and drinks, part3: Ceviche and something else very good

What is refreshing, is a Peruvian Coca Tea  (Mate de Coca) Tea you can drink like Instant or then you put coca leaves in the hot water. But what is not my thing, is a Peruvian coffee. As I like coffee with milk. I think the best coffee in the world you can drink in Spain or Italy, that is "cafe con leche" and "caffelatte". Once again the opinion of the milk lover. I like also Italian "Caffé Espresso" after eating well.

Yesterday I ate very well, as today too. At both times kind of thick soup. Yesterday in the restaurant Cevicheria el Pez On  in Miraflores. I ate Fish soup, "Chupe de Pescado". Delicious! And a big portion, almost to big for me. Today I ate Shrimp Soup, Chupe de Camarones". Though in another place. Delicious once again!. I remembered that I have eaten also earlier very good soups in Peru. So check the menu of "Pez On". When coming to Peru, you must try "Ceviche" too. It is the national pride of Peru they and others say...

Perustavanlaatuista Perusta ja Lattareista, ja asiantuntijaharjoittelustani (osa2)

Juuri ennen Peruun tuloani osallistuin Suomen tiede- ja kulttuuri-instituuttipäivien vastaanotolle. Juttelin siellä mm. Suomen Madridin -Instituutin nykyisen johtajan Auli Leskisen kanssa ja olen vielä häneen tässä Perussa ollessani yhteydessä.

Niin, Suomen Madridin -Instituutin toiminta-alueeseen kuuluu siis Espanjan lisäksi Portugali, ja Latinalainen Amerikka. Hiukkasen iso toiminta-alue siis instituutilla! Suomen Madridin -Instituutilla tai oikeammin Suomen Madridin-instituuttia ylläpitävällä Iberialais-amerikkalainen säätiöllä on Portugalissa ja useissa Latinalaisen Amerikan maissa ns. asiamiehet, kuten esimerkiksi Brasiliassa, Argentiinassa, Perussa, Meksikossa ja niin edelleen.

Saavuin Peruun viime viikolla aikaisin torstaiaamuna. Ja heti viime viikon loppupuolella ja tämän viikon alkupuolella aloin tutustua tarkemmin perulaisen yhteistyökumppanimme USEn toimintaan kiertelemällä eri osastoilla ja esittämällä kysymyksiä. Tein myös keskinäisiä vertailuja espanjan- ja portugalinkielisten yhteistyökumppaniorganisaatioideni välillä. Yhteistyökumppanit löytyvät jutusta "Waves of Exchanges". Joukossa on myös pari organisaatiota, jotka eivät tällä hetkellä ole kumppaneitamme, mutta ovat joko omasta kokemuksestani tai yhteistyökumppanini kokemuksesta luotettavia yhteistyökumppaneita. Ja aktiivisia! Suurimmalla osalla nykyisistä yhteistyökumppaneistani on toimintavuosia yli kymmenen, tai jopa kaksikymmentä. Kysy lisää jos kiinnostaa, ja voit myös kysyä Lattariasioista...

Olen alkanut syventyä myös espanjankieliseen alan sanastoon. Aika paljon jo mielestäni osaankin, mutta koko ajan löytyy entistä tarkempia ammatillisia, henkilövaihtoon liittyviä ilmaisuja. Niin ja sitten on tietysti vielä se seikka että sanasto ja alan sanasto myös on Espanjassa ja Latinalaisessa Amerikassa osittain eri. Mutta ei kyllä päätä paljon kannata kylmätä. Kyllä ymmärretään, vaikka käyttäisin Espanjassa Lattari-ilmaisua ja päin vastoin. Pääasia on, kuten kielissä yleensäkin, että saat itsesi ymmärretyksi. Ja että ymmärrät vähintäänkin suurin piirtein, mitä sinulle sanotaan.

Olen aloittanut myös seuraavan artikkelini kirjoittamisen. Artikkeli ilmestyy loppuvuodesta Kielikoulutuspolitiikan verkkolehdessä. Jos sinua kiinnostaa tutustua iällisesti vanhimpaan Lattariharjoitteluumme eli harjoitteluun Chilessä, niin tsekkaa tästä. "Freelancing": Movies and Movies...

Seen any Peruvian movies before? I mean you, coming from outside Peru...

Before coming to Peru, I have. I just checked, that I have seen two films from the 80´s, "Juliana" and "Boca del Lobo", and just before leaving for Peru "Madeinusa". The first 2 ones I have seen in the Berlin Film FEstival in the 80's. Now I bought couple of Peruvian films, of which I think "Dias de Santiago" (Days of Santiago) will be the best.

Really nice to see some new Latin American films when back in Finland. The big Latin American film countries are, as you can well guess, Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. Here you can find information about Latin American films . Under the label "Butacaperu", 33 Peruvian films. Part of them are subtitled.

By the way. We have a Latin American Filmfestival in Helsinki too, at the end of October called Cinemaissi.

"Freelancing": Music, Music, Music - tips and to listen to

Yesterday I bought my first records during the trip, the first ones and 10 of them to begin with.
I bought some Peruvian films too. The name of the record shop in Lima is Via Music , and it is a very good one. You can find it near the Kennedy Park in Miraflores.

When in the record shop I found couple of really very interesting records, Peruvian music from the 60's: Saicos - Maybe the first Punk band in the world? and Traffic Sound 

The name of one of my favorite Peruvian rock bands is La Sarita (Generos: Rock, Cumbia, Chicha, Huayno, Festejo, Vals Criollo). Listen to it and you will not be disappointed! And if you want to listen to rock sang in Quechuan languages, one of the native South American languages, choose  Uchpa and the Chachaschay

Food and drinks, part2: To drink or not, if yes what?

This weekend I had a good possibility to drink Chicha morada. If you want to drink a non-alcoholic drink which suits very well to almost every food and is healthy, take Chicha morada instead of Coca cola for a change. I have drank it several times, and I like it. Another Peruvian non-alcoholic,very typical drink is Inca Kola, "el sabor de Péru" they market it...Some like it, some not.

Up to that in Lima they have this weekend elections and according to law it is forbidden for every restaurant and bar to sell alcoholic drinks. This is my fourth time in Peru, and this happens to me already for the third time! I almost cannot understand why they cannot serve alcohol to tourists, if the tourist shows his passport. Because we have no right to take in part in the Peruvian elections. But I think, this is a more or less a democratic way. So okay. Anyway I have noticed from the window of my apartment that some families at homes do have celebrations at homes, and that may be all night long...But of course, I do not know if this is very common.

If you come to Peru and like cocktails, you must order Pisco Sour. Chile and Peru both claim the Pisco Sour as their national drink, and it is made in these two countries a little bit different and served from a glass alike each other. In my point of view Pisco Sour is very good, and suits to every occasion and can be drank at every moment of the day. So try it! And to close down for the moment... If you are a beerlover, take a Cusqueña. A German borned Ernesto Günther founded the Cervecera Alemana (“German Brewery”) in the city of Cusco.Well, I think every beer in all parts of the world is originally founded by a German. They are the experts of beer brewing! No doubt about it.
