Food and drinks, part1: Peruvian, Italian, Finnish or Nepalese?
Have been in Peru now more or less two days...and thrice earlier...
They say the Peruvian cuisine is the best in Latinamerica, and even in the world. May be or not. You name it. But anyway at my first day in Lima I ate Italian pasta, Fettucini en Tinta de Calamar with fresh Peruvian seafood in a wonderful restaurant called Punto Azul in Miraflores. Just look at the menu, they big portions too. As big as the portions in America are. Personally I like the Italian food most, and not to speak about the Indian/Nepalese food. Actually the Nepalese may be the best in the world from my point of view!
What I'm gonna try to taste next is food of very basic one. That is Peruvian potatoes of different kind and different colours - Que riqueza! The Peruvians call the potatoes "papas". I have never seen such manifold of potatoes in my life...It just came into my mind. May be that the Spaniards would be horrified in eating potatoes almost all the time. As once a Spanish boy said to me; "You Finns eat potatoes all the time". So you can imagine why I like eating Peruvian potatoes too...
But speaking about potatoes, you know the Peruvian chips are best in the world, may be the basic ones or the veggie chips (Hojuelas de Vegetales) or Inka chips/Banana chips (Chifles de plátanos). And in Ecuador they have delicious Banana chips too.
Anyway, if you want to taste all this come to Helsinki Finland. Why not? We have in Helsinki more or less 20 Nepalese or Indian restaurants, couple of very good Italian restaurants, 2 Peruvian restaurants - and speaking about Finland, you can eat in Helsinki up to Finnish potatoes something else too. That is fresh fish from all those thousand lakes of ours in Finland. But visit Peru first, Perú esta invitandote "for sure".
